I see. [Its not until after the spell faded that the fatigue caught up with Takame as well. Hells, that was a strain on his aether. Enough that he sad on the ground next to Cu.]
Even if he is... smaller, should the need arise for you to use it, we are aware of what to expect now. [The tension in his shoulders released as he let out a deep breath. He was relieved to know what he was dealing with.]
Yeah. And something about the magic in this world is... off. Not the best word for it, but normally I would be able to cast more than one Noble Phantasm before I was this tired. And at the full magnitude.
[He sighs.]
Isn't it? You can see why we try to keep them under wraps unless we have to use them.
[And now for the fun part.]
As for the other thing... I had to make sure you weren't the kind of Master who would use this information for evil.
[It made sense to keep such power hidden until the right time. Moreso if Cu had something else he wasn't honest about because he needed to gauge Takame. To ensure he wouldn't use it for evil purposes.
He could understand that, and it was reflected in his tone: Patient and calm.
Not that he wasn't still worried, perhaps a little on edge. If he was not Cu Chulainn...]
[He pulls a bag out from somewhere that has some cheese and bread and water in it and sets it between them.]
So, a Divine Spirit is basically... a god. Or the power of one. And I'm sure you know what a god is. Things get a little complicated when it comes to gods, mages, and servants, but what you need to know...
I was originally summoned as a Lancer in my Grail War. But a god bestowed their Authority on me and I became a Caster.
[A single nod is given in acknowledgement. While this is being explained his expression didn't shift save for a brief aversion of his eyes in consideration while the natural sway of his tail completely halted.
The only indicator that something made him uneasy. Talk of Gods always would, but indeed he knew of them.
Cu was well prepared at least for a long haul at least.]
I don't know how familiar you are with the gods of this place, but... a Norse god named Odin gave me his Authority... basically some of his power. Which turned my class from Lancer to Caster.
I am not a god. I'm Odin's vessel, kind of. But I'm still Cu Chulainn. I have some of his abilities and can do things I normally can't do because he chose me to help. What that is, I haven't figured out yet, but...
[Takame had taken some water while he listened to his Servant explain things. There were minute changes in his expression, a furrow of the brow and clenching of teeth behind a closed mouth.
It was shocking to take in, but it wouldn't be the first time Takame had worked alongside someone with God-like power. The God mentioned, Odin, made him curious as he was never mentioned within Cu's legend that Takame saw. Not only that, his mind went to the Primal of his world. Though some names seemed to be shared between this realm and his like how Yusuke knew of the Four Lords. One such overlap, he assumed.]
... I see. [The only thing said for a while before going quiet to let everything process. A Norse God chose Cu to help with something and bestowed some of his power onto him for reasons yet unknown.
Quite the responsibility. A familiar one that made his tail twitch. The silence lingered for a bit before he finally broke it.]
I understand why you would hide something like this until I proved myself trustworthy enough.
[Cu let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding.]
Yeah. It's nothing against you as a person but... some Masters can get nasty when they realize things about their Servants. And I needed to make sure you weren't going to become that type.
I imagine so given what I know of Mages. [If Kayneth was the epitome of what one was he had a feeling of how awful it could get. Like having many more of him if not worse. A disgusting thought.
Sei seemed to speak fondly of her Master at least, and if she knew Cu through whoever that was he was glad there were just as many who were in the minority of decent Mages like Waver.]
I am far from a saint, I would not even consider myself a good person given the things I've done. [Some things from April still weighed on him. Cu could probably gauge what he meant based on the message left from his Shadow all that time ago. That Takame had the spirit of a murderer deep down.]
But I would not allow myself to become mad with power. That much I can promise you. [And given the relative freedom Cu had here Takame meant that. His conviction to what he said was just as clear here as the day they formed their contract.]
Yeah, I don't know what Mages are like back at your home but... they're not always the best lads. The Professor is one of the good ones. His Lancer was lucky to have him as a Master. My Master at Chaldea was a good one too. But, we ran into a few who weren't.
[A certain leprechaun looking shit comes to mind. And not just for the fashion choices.]
Hmmm.
[He glances to him and reaches over to gently boop him with his staff.]
Everyone has inner bullshit, eh Master. I'm glad you're safe. And back with us.
In my home Mages are simply spellcasters such as yourself. Waver has spoken of how they are in your realm... I'm grateful that you have a good Master there.
[Whoever they may be, as long as they were good to Cu or whomever else they contracted with that mattered most.]
Ah-! [The boop got the tiniest reaction from him, that little sound, raised brow and his tail shooting up halfway. For a moment he felt as though he was going to be scolded and tensed, but Cu left it simple as was his wont.]
I suppose so. I... [He was going to apologize for April, for not being fully honest with him at the time but he didn't know how bad things would become. And... surely over apologizing would get another staff bap. So he shook his head.] Thank you, Cu.
[Cu just smiles. Yeah, Master back home was a good one, but like everyone, they aren't perfect, and never will be. No one is perfect, especially those working to save the world from whatever evils are threatening it.]
[He glances over at Takame for a second.]
You were going to apologize again, weren't you?
Don't worry about it. You did what needed to be done.
Ah, I... well. [Yes, yes he was. Caught red handed and twitchy tailed, averting his eyes in embarrassment. He sighed and nodded to himself.]
Mm. I did. I'll always do what must be done. That was the case long before I came here. Long before it was my duty as the Warrior of Light. [Just the kind of person he was, really, even if in the end all that amounted to was following orders.]
Hm? [Did... did he say something funny? Of course he took the hand to stand with a nod, realizing that maybe he was a bit overly sentimental at times.]
Ah, I suppose that has become... a habit of mine. [You gain some you lose some, oops.]
Mm, as ever I will keep it to myself. I swear. [Like how he's still "Caster" to anyone who's not Yusuke or Waver, Takame kept even mundane things like names to himself let alone the gravity of "I serve as a God's vessel".]

He could understand that, and it was reflected in his tone: Patient and calm.
Not that he wasn't still worried, perhaps a little on edge. If he was not Cu Chulainn...]
Then who are you, exactly? I'd like to know.

It's less that I'm a different person and more... there's a reason I'm Caster class instead of Lancer class, like I normally would.
Let me figure out where to start... In your discussions with the Professor, has he mentioned anything about Pseudo Servants or Divine Spirits?
